The Sport of Kings
Michael Ohoven, Producer of CAPOTE, which was Oscar nominated for Best Picture and won an Oscar for Best Actor has just closed a deal with Producer/Financier/Manager Rob Gallagher of Gallagher Literary to produce the spec script THE SPORT OF KINGS which is based on a legendary true story in horse racing and considered Oscar caliber story material. The spec is expected to be fast tracked into production this year. Gallagher represented the writers Del Matthew Bigtree and Jack Groverland. Ohoven was represented by his inhouse counsel Kyle Mann of Infinity Media Inc.
They Bite
Warner Bros Studio based Producer Brian Witten, former EVP at Paramount, and SVP at New Line, is currently in negotiations with Producer/Manager Rob Gallagher of Gallagher Literary, and Gallagher's client, Writer/Director Dan OBannon to Produce the OBannon Sci Fi Thriller THEY BITE. All three would share equal Producing credits and OBannon is expected to direct. The project is expected to be fast tracked into production this year. Wittens credits include Knockaround Guys, Little Nicky, and American History X. Gallagher's credits include Rush Hour 2, Hannibal, and What Women Want. OBannons credits include Alien Vs. Predator, Total Recall, The Return of the Living Dead, and Alien.
A Matter of Substance TV's NIGHT NATION
Gallagher Literary has recently signed TV Production house “A Matter of Substance TV” for representation. AMOS-TV founders Ohad Maiman and Eytan Rockaway are the creators of “NIGHT NATION” which is a docu-drama in-depth view into the New York City nightclub scene and the people who live for it. Reality television but electrified with all the energy and drama of the hottest club scene on the planet. Perfect for networks like HBO and SHOWTIME, this steamy series could also be edited for a public audience like MTV, VH1, or any of the networks. Everyone knows the club scene is the cutting edge of new music and this would be a great series for a network that wants to reach this audience. The series will be shot reality style to follow a group of friends and their lives for several seasons along the lines of LAGUNA BEACH or REAL WORLD, etc.
